New Student Convocation marks the official beginning of a student’s college experience. Join the Chancellor, student leaders, executive officers and members of the faculty for this traditional ceremony at which each student will be presented with a memorable gift.
The Tradition of Convocation: The word convocation stems from the Latin word convocare, which means to call together or assemble. For academic institutions, convocation signals the start of a new academic year.
Dress is summer casual.
New students will be seated together.
Guests will be seated in another section.
