Dr. McKay joined the staff in August 2007. She was appointed Interim Director of CAPS in summer 2012. As the Senior Counseling Center Psychologist, Tamara provides individual, couples, and group psychotherapy for currently enrolled students. She coordinates the various Counseling Services activities, including outreach and education for the campus community. As Interim Director, Dr. McKay manages and supervises CAPS staff, as well as organizes and develops CAPS programs and initiatives. She also serves in the Psychology department at UM-Flint as Adjunct Lecturer.

Ms. Smith joined the staff in September 2008. As a Campus Counselor, Amanda provides individual, couples, and group psychotherapy for currently enrolled students. She, along with Dr. McKay, conducts outreach activities for the campus community, provides consultation services for faculty and staff, and provides students with psychological screening services. In addition to her service within CAPS, she is also Adjunct Lecturer in the Psychology Department here at UM-Flint.

Leanne joined our staff in October 2012 as the front-line administrative support for CAPS. She greets and provides information/services to students, faculty, and staff; assesses walk-in or phone inquiries for same-day crisis counseling or regular appointments; schedules appointments; oversees Testing Center activities for Accessibility Services; develops and updates campus communications; and provides a safe and confidential space for all students and clients. She has 9 years experience in a mental health setting and even more as administrative support staff. You will find her at the front desk greeting and providing services to all of UM-Flint students.
