The Marian E. Wright Writing Center offers writing help to all UM-Flint students, and tutoring positions are available to select Communication Studies majors. The Rough Draft Cafe offers similar support to the greater Flint community, with weekly office hours at the Flint Public Library.
Our majors also engage with and volunteer for local organizations such as Flint Community Read.

UM-Flint offers a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies and a Communications Minor.
BA in Communications Studies
This program offers a broad-based education in support of careers in communication, such as communication training and development, marketing and sales, media, law, and public relations, as well as a core foundation for continued graduate study.
Communications Minor
This 21-credit program is an excellent complement to any of UM-Flint’s majors, enabling you to develop core skills in public speaking, ethics, and more.

We accept applications on a rolling basis; however, we recommend submitting all application materials at least 1 month before you plan to start your first semester.
