Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology
Studying anthropology not only gives you insight into how culture and humanity have evolved, but it also prepares you with a wealth of skills that are highly transferable across an array of fields—from traditional anthropology and archeology careers, to working in community and social service management, public relations and communications, market research, and more.
The study of anthropology initiates a broad exploration of what it means to be human, examining the most critical social and political questions of our time. Within anthropology, you can explore four main focuses: archaeology, biology, culture, and linguistics.

Curriculum Overview
UM-Flint offers a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and an Anthropology Minor. We also offer a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Social Sciences.
BA in Anthropology
Explore the various fields of anthropology, then apply your skills through a series of methods and elective courses. Your BA in anthropology will prepare you to work in the field or in a range of careers that require communication, teamwork, collaboration, research, writing, and human interaction skills.
Anthropology Minor
This 18-credit program introduces you to the various fields within anthropology and offers the flexibility to select several elective courses that align with your specific interests and goals.
BA in Integrated Social Sciences
Explore the intersection of people and their economic, social, and political institutions. You’ll have the option to select a primary discipline, complemented by two other disciplines, from anthropology, economics, history, political science, psychology, and sociology.

Whether you’re a first-year student or a transfer student, we aim to keep the admissions process simple, saving you time and money. We accept applications on a rolling basis; however, we recommend submitting all application materials at least 1 month before you plan to start your first semester.
