How does the Bachelor of Applied Science program work?
Verify Your Associate’s in Applied Science Degree
To be admitted, you must have an AAS or similar degree.
It can be from a variety of disciplines, including business, construction, culinary arts, graphic design, health, industrial management, and mechanical and electronic technology.
Apply to UM-Flint’s BAS program
You can easily apply for the program online or connect with either our Office of Undergraduate Admissions at admissions.flint@umich.edu or the program’s academic advisor, Megan Presland, at meganrv@umich.edu.
To simplify the process of transferring your credits, UM-Flint has articulation agreements with more than a dozen community colleges, including:
- Lansing Community College
- Mid Michigan College
- Mott Community College
- Oakland Community College
- St. Clair County Community College
- Washtenaw Community College
- Wayne County Community College
Plan your course of study & complete your degree
Complete core courses, and then work with your advisor to determine which path meets your needs:
- Minor: Any one of the minors offered by UM-Flint. 15-18 credits total.
- Interdisciplinary: Complete 15 credits in each of two disciplines of your choice from any we offer. 30 credits total.
While completing at least 124 credits for your degree, you must also meet all of UM-Flint’s graduation requirements.

Admission Requirements
As a transfer student, you can expect the admissions process to be simple, saving you time and money. We accept applications on a rolling basis; however, we recommend submitting all application materials at least 1 month before you plan to start your first semester.
