Program Requirements
Students in the Educational Technology master's program may choose between the Developer Track and the Curriculum and Instruction Track.
Online except for Innovation in Education Gatherings (Michigan and overseas). This track is appropriate for those wishing to design innovative tools, activities, and programs for learners of any kind. Some technical work will be required, but extensive technical knowledge is not a prerequisite. The focus is on creating meaningful learning experiences, with technology playing a supporting role.
Required core (18 credits)
* EDE 504 - Learning in the 21st Century
* EDT 510 - Foundations of Technology in Education
EDT 575- Introduction to Web Development or EDT 576 - Introduction to Mobile App Development (If both are taken, one will count as an elective)
* EDT 660 - Enactment of Educational Programs
* EDE 670 - Research Seminar
EDT 631 (one credit) - Online Project Collaboration Methods and Tools
EDT 632 - Professional seminar (1 credit per semester; must be taken at least twice)
Innovation in Education Gatherings (minimum 6 credits)
(EDT 630, attendance at a minimum of 2 gatherings for a minimum total of 6 credits required)
Attend and reflect on public conference: 1 credit
Present at public conference: 1 credit
Project team work: 1-3 credits
