DESCRIPTION
This collection consists of photocopies of archival or manuscript files from three repositories: the National Archives, the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library, and the Social Welfare History Archives at the University of Minnesota. Kenneth B. West, Professor of History at the University of Michigan-Flint, visited these archives and selected files concerning Flint, Michigan, and sometimes Michigan as a whole, and ordered photocopies of these files. He focused on the Great Depression and the records relating to labor, social welfare, relief, and public works programs.
Federal records are in the public domain. However, in citing the materials,
please note the repository at which they are held. Permission to quote
from the documents in the Association of Junior Leagues of America, the
National Recreation Association, and the Family Service Association of
America must be obtained from the organizations.
