FAQ

Q: My professor put some things "on reserve." What is that all about?

A: Books and articles on regular reserve are available at Reserved Readings, located at the end of the Loan Desk on the third floor. They can be checked out for a limited time determined by the instructor:

  • 2 hours (in-library use only)
  • 4 hours
  • 1 day
  • 3 days
  • 1 week

Reserve items from the Media Collection can be checked out for two hours only, and must be used in the library. "Electronic reserve" items can be viewed anywhere; off-campus use requires a login.

To find reserves for a course, go into Mirlyn and click "Course Reserves" in the upper right corner [illustration]. You can then search or browse by course, instructor, title, or author.
