What I Do

• Collection development. Librarians and departmental faculty share responsibility for acquiring resources for the library. Each librarian has a small annual budget for ordering books. My special role in collection development is to help make sure the collections are growing as they should. A few years back, I coordinated the conspectus project, a large-scale assessment of the library's holdings.
• Webmaster. I have overall responsibility for the library's website. My colleagues Mickey Doyle and Kui-Bin Im also do some web development.
• Reference desk. Nine librarians have regular shifts at the reference desk; I am one-ninth of them.
• Reference team leader. This job is not as glorious as it sounds. It mostly means I schedule the reference desk.
