Online and Mixed-Mode Courses
Online and mixed-mode courses begin on the same day as face-to-face courses in your particular program. It is very important that you:
- Login to your course via Blackboard within the first five calendar days to avoid being dropped from the class.
- Check your UM-Flint e-mail account for messages from OEL or your instructor.
Are you on the waitlist for an online or mixed-mode course class?
The Office of Extended Learning (OEL) processes waitlists until the first day of class for most departments (excluding the Nursing Department, School of Management, and English Department). If you are waitlisted, OEL will notify you by e-mail and telephone when an opening occurs. You MUST respond within five business days, either by e-mail or phone, as to whether you still want to register (enroll) for the course. We will then provide instructions as to how to complete the registration. If you do not respond within the five-day notification period, the course “seat” will be offered to the next person on the list.
In all cases, beginning on the first day of class, you will need to contact the academic unit to add an online or mixed-mode class.
