Any transcripts that were presented for admission purposes have become an integral part of the files of the admitting offices and cannot be released, either directly or for copying purposes. It will be necessary for you to write directly to the institutions concerned to obtain copies of those previous records.
Why are signatures required?
FERPA (Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act) requires the student's signature on documents requesting the release of information contained in the student's educational record. For this same reason, if a student elects to have someone else pick up their transcript or other protected information from our office, a note with the student's signature is mandatory.
Further information on FERPA can be accessed here.
Can I have my transcript faxed?
The Office of the Registrar does not fax official documents such as transcripts. You may choose to have your transcript mailed or you may return and pick it up in person (please bring a photo ID).
