Undergraduate Admissions Priority Deadlines

  • Fall Semester: July 1
  • Winter Semester: Nov. 1 

Students may apply after priority deadlines but may not receive an admission decision in time to enroll during the semester for which they have applied.

Along with the priority deadlines listed above, there are additional dates international applicants must keep in mind.

  • Winter I-20 Issue Deadline: Dec. 1
  • Priority Housing Application Deadline: Feb. 1
  • Fall I-20 Issue Deadline: Aug. 1

First-Year Undergraduate Students

To apply as a first-year international applicant, you must have recently graduated or will soon be graduating from high school (or secondary school) and have not yet attended a post-secondary institution. While most international students do not qualify for federal financial aid, UM-Flint works hard to provide an affordable educational experience through competitive tuition rates and other means of financial aid, such as scholarships and work-study opportunities.

International undergraduate students can qualify for first-year merit scholarships or our transfer merit-based scholarships depending on their enrollment status.

Additionally, international graduate students can apply for our Graduate Student Research Assistantship program, which allows them to earn a stipend while gaining valuable work experience in an academic setting.


In partnership with the UM-Flint Office of Admissions, the Center for Global Engagement provides ample support for you and other international students as you transition to living in the United States and during your time at UM-Flint. Annual Security & Fire Safety Notice

The University of Michigan-Flint’s Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is available online at go.umflint.edu/ASR-AFSR. The ASR-AFSR includes Clery Act crime and fire statistics for the preceding three years for locations owned and or controlled by UM-Flint, the required policy disclosure statements and other important safety-related information.
