The Department of Public Safety provides complete law enforcement services to the campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The University of Michigan-Flint Department of Public Safety operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Department of Public Safety offers a wide variety of services to our community, some of these services include:

The University of Michigan-Flint complies with the university’s “Policy on Minors involved in University-Sponsored Programs or Programs Held in University Facilities”, SPG 601.34, designed to promote the health, wellness, safety, and security of children who are entrusted to the university’s care, custody, and control or who participate in Programs held on university property.

Resources for Survivors of Sexual Assault or Sexual Abuse (2E)
Many offices at the University of Michigan-Flint Campus collaborate to provide resources for survivors of sexual assault or sexual abuse. Below are some of the resources and assistance offered by the university:
- Assist in reporting to on or off-campus law enforcement or initiating university disciplinary proceedings.
- Confidential Resources (See below)
- Information on preserving evidence.
- Academic accommodations options, such as rescheduling exams, adjusting class schedules to avoid contact with the respondent, etc.
- Change in work situations, such as relocation to provide a more private or secure location, additional security measures, etc.
- Ability for the university to implement no contact instructions.
- Escorts by the campus Department of Public Safety between classes, to vehicles and to other university activities.

If you are uncertain where the incident occurred or which agency to contact, the UM-Flint Department of Public Safety is available to help you determine which agency has jurisdiction and will help you to report the matter to that agency if you wish.

Campus Security Policies & Crime Statistics (2G)
The University of Michigan-Flint’s Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASR-AFSR) is available online at go.umflint.edu/ASR-AFSR. The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes Clery Act crime and fire statistics for the preceding three years for locations owned and or controlled by UM-Flint, the required policy disclosure statements, and other important safety-related information. A paper copy of the ASR-AFSR is available on request made to the Department of Public Safety by calling 810-762-3330, by email to [email protected] or in person at DPS at the Hubbard Building at 602 Mill Street; Flint, MI 48502.
