Social Sciences & Humanities

The Social Sciences and Humanities department at the University of Michigan-Flint features the disciplines most commonly considered to be the cornerstone of human intellectual inquiry.

We explore contemporary society, politics and economy, historical processes, and the making of the modern world. We examine various theories and ways of knowing and seeing and use the building blocks of political, legal, and economic theory to explore modern society.

You’ll gain a broad understanding of our collective human experience and a range of analytical skills and experiences that provide an invaluable perspective to any career.
