Expanding Horizons in Health Education
The CHS added four new undergraduate programs in fall 2023 – Exercise Science, Health Information Technology (online) and two innovative accelerated pathways in Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy, that allow students to complete a bachelor’s in Health Sciences in three years instead of four and apply to a doctorate in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy one year sooner, saving significant time and money.
CHS also welcomed the Social Work Department and the existing Bachelor’s of Social Work to the college in July 2023.
The Flint campus is proud to be the only home to four of the University of Michigan’s world-class graduate programs – Master of Science in Physician Assistant, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy Doctorate and Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia.
CHS trains students to provide excellent patient care. Options include innovative bachelor’s degree programs not offered at many other schools in Michigan: Radiation Therapy and an online completion program in Respiratory Therapy for those who have completed an associate degree in the field.
There are also several great options for students who want to work behind the scenes in health care with programs in Health Care Administration, Health Information Technology and Public Health.
Our students participate in a wide range of real-world, dynamic learning experiences, including clinical internships with a variety of partners and the opportunity to participate in Health Equity, Action, Research and Teaching, a pro-bono, student-run clinic for our local community.
If you want to make a difference in your community and prepare for a meaningful career, we have a program that is right for you.
The CHS is committed to serving the community and addressing health inequities, and preparing students to do the same. One way we do that is through HEART, our student and faculty-run collaborative pro-bono health clinic. Learn more about HEART which provides health care services for the uninsured and underinsured in Genesee County and meaningful learning experiences for students.
