Crisis Support at UM-Flint
At the University of Michigan-Flint, we are committed to providing comprehensive support for students facing crises. Our campus offers a range of resources to ensure your safety and well-being.

Counseling & Psychological Services
CAPS provides free, confidential mental health services to enrolled UM-Flint students.
Crisis Services:
- Call 810-762-3456 and press “0” when prompted for immediate assistance
- After-hours support is available evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Same-day crisis appointments are available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday-Friday
Department of Public Safety
DPS offers 24/7 law enforcement services to ensure campus safety.
Emergency Services:

- Safety escort services and medical assistance are available
- Special Victim Services Unit
Center for Gender and Sexuality
CGS provides a safe space for students to discuss gender and sexuality issues, offering confidential support and resources.
- Sexual assault advocacy
- LGBTQIA+ support
- Peer education programs on sexual violence prevention
Office of the Dean of Students
ODOS coordinates various resources, from student conduct and advocacy to crisis intervention and support services.
Services:
- Campus Assessment, Response, and Evaluation Team
- The CARE Team is a multi-disciplinary, cross-divisional group that addresses situations and behaviors that could hinder student success or compromise campus safety and security.
- Students, faculty, and staff can file a CARE Concern if they are concerned about a UM-Flint student’s safety and/or well-being.

Creating Safer Spaces Initiative
This campus-wide program aims to prevent and respond to sexual and gender-based violence.

Reporting Sexual Misconduct
The Equity, Civil Rights & Title IX Office handles reports of discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct.
