Quickly Earn Your Bachelor’s and Master’s

University of Michigan-Flint’s Joint Bachelor of Business Administration/Master of Science in Applied Finance program is designed for our undergraduate students who want to pursue a Master of Science in Applied Finance early in their education. Our BBA/MSAF joint curriculum allows admitted students to simultaneously earn undergraduate and graduate credits, counting toward both degree requirements. This bridging program is designed to allow students to move to study for a PhD or start their future finance careers swiftly.

Students should apply in their junior or senior year of undergraduate studies. Upon completing their BBA, they will receive that degree and immediately move on to graduate studies, receiving their MSAF upon completing the 21 remaining credits.

The Master of Science in Applied Finance program is offered entirely online. The UM-Flint MSAF program is accredited by AACSB International, the highest accrediting body for business schools worldwide. Only 6% of business schools are accredited by AACSB. You can become a competitive candidate in the job market by earning a Master of Science in Applied Finance degree. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, MSAF graduates are qualified for many high-paying careers, such as:

  • Financial Analyst 
  • Finance Manager 
  • Investment Analyst
  • Vice President Finance

  • A minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in all business courses is required for acceptance into the BBA/MSAF program. The student interested in the BBA/MSAF program should apply in the junior year.

Submit an online application below to be considered for admission to the MSAFprogram. Other materials can be emailed to [email protected] or delivered to the Office of Graduate Programs, 251 Thompson Library.

  • Application for Graduate Admission
  • $55 application fee (non-refundable)
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. The Office of Graduate Programs will pull transcripts for University of Michigan-Flint students. Transcripts from other institutions must be sent directly to the school. 
  • One letter of recommendation from a UM-Flint faculty member 
  • Statement of Purpose: include information on why you are interested in the MSAF program, pertinent background information, and long-term goals.

  • Fall Semester Early Deadline: May 1*
  • Fall Semester Final Deadline: Aug. 1
  • Winter Semester: Dec. 1
  • Summer Semester: April 1

*You must have a complete application by the early May 1 deadline to guarantee application eligibility for scholarships, grants, and research assistantships.
