First-Year & International Students
In order to apply for the four-year Honors Program, you will need the following:
- Prior Acceptance at UM-Flint.
- Completed Undergraduate Application for domestic students or International Undergraduate Application for those students outside the U.S.
- Completed Honors Program Application.
- Recommended GPA: 3.5 minimum.
- No ACT/SAT is required.
How applicants are selected:
When we select applicants, we take into consideration the following factors:
- GPA
- The seriousness of curriculum and courses in high school.
- The seriousness of purpose, self-motivation and range of interests as revealed by your application.
Final decision:
- You will be notified by the Honors Program of the final decision regarding your application by email as soon as possible.
- If you are accepted, please register for one of the first four First-year Orientation dates.
Transfer Students & UM-Flint Sophomores
We admit a small number of students each year into the two-year Junior/Senior transfer program on a competitive basis.
Eligible students include:
- UM-Flint sophomores who were not previously in the Honors Program.
- Transfer students from other colleges and universities.
- Prior Acceptance at UM-Flint. Completed UM-Flint Transfer Student Application.
To apply for the two-year Junior/Senior Honors Program:
- Complete the Honors Program Junior/Senior Application.
- Recommended GPA: 3.5 minimum.
