Genesee Intermediate School District, in partnership with the University of Michigan-Flint, operates the Genesee Early College. GEC is an intensive, state-of-the-art, five-year high school combining the best elements of the high school and early university experience. Located on the University of Michigan – Flint campus, GEC is one of the few early college high schools in the state of Michigan to be located on a university campus.
Genesee Early College’s specialized curriculum prepares students for success in university-level coursework and future careers in any field. GEC students get a head start on their four-year degree paths, allowing them to earn up to 60 free transferable college credits while earning their high school diploma.

- The percentage of GEC students meeting college readiness benchmarks on the SAT is consistently higher than the statewide average.

- The class of 2023 earned an average of 46 college credits.
- On average, GEC students pass 95% of college classes.
- The average college GPA for the graduating class of 2023 was 3.23.

The University of Michigan-Flint’s Annual Security and Fire Safety Report (ASR-AFSR) is available online at go.umflint.edu/ASR-AFSR. The Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes Clery Act crime and fire statistics for the preceding three years for locations owned and or controlled by UM-Flint, the required policy disclosure statements and other important safety-related information.
