UM-Flint Summer Camp Programs

Ready to get more out of your summer break? UM-Flint offers a variety of enriching programming in a variety of unique areas for K-12 students. Hosted by world-renowned faculty, these programs expand campers’ curiosity and develop their passions while offering an up-close look at the UM-Flint campus.

2024 UM-Flint Summer Camp Line Up

Future doctor? Entrepreneur? Tech innovator? UM-Flint has a camp for that and more. Find your summer plans here. While these are not overnight camps, attendees will be immersed in their chosen topic!

Ready, Set, Kindergarten

Camp Dates: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. May 28 – August 21
Age Group: Incoming kindergarteners
Cost: Registration fee $80, materials fee $55, then $245 per week + field trips

Children entering kindergarten can enroll in UM-Flint Early Childhood Development Center’s Ready, Set, Kindergarten program for the summer months to keep your child on track for kindergarten. We will be working on literacy, math, science, and social studies concepts along with enhancing your child’s social skills in the classroom, outdoors, and on field trips. Children will have the chance to work in small groups, large groups, and individually.

Camp Dates: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. June 17- August 16
Age Group: Incoming grades 1-3
Cost: Registration & materials $100, then $225 per week + field trips

Girl’s Soccer Camp 2024

Camp Date: June 22
Age Group: Ages 5-9  (12 p.m. – 3 p.m.), ages 10-13 (4 p.m. – 7 p.m.)
Cost: $40
Location: Bicentennial Park Soccer Fields in Grand Blanc, MI

For budding soccer stars ages 5-9, our afternoon session promises a blend of skill-building activities, friendly matches, and fun-filled drills, all under the guidance of our players! For ages 10-13, our evening session provides an opportunity to hone some skills, develop teamwork, and engage in some spirited competition. Both sessions will be led by UM-Flint Women’s Soccer players and will take place at the Bicentennial Park soccer fields in Grand Blanc.

*Every registration directly contributes to the UM-Flint Women’s Soccer team fundraising efforts, ensuring we can cover essential expenses for the upcoming season while promoting inclusivity and sportsmanship. Register by June 15 and let’s make this summer unforgettable!

Curiosity Academy: Summer Science Edition 2024

Camp Dates: June 25-26 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Murchie Science Building
Age Group: Incoming grades 4-6
Cost: $30

Are you curious about how scientists explore the world around us? Join faculty and students from Chemistry, Biology, and Math for this 2-day camp. We will be conducting hands-on experiments, sharpening observation skills, and analyzing our results to reinforce science concepts and inspire future scientists.

Summer Vocal Academy of Music 2024

Camp Dates: July 8-19 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in David M. French Hall
Age Group: Grades 5-12
Cost: $200
Early Bird Registration: $100 by June 14

UM-Flint Music invites all students who love singing and are in grades 5th – 12th to join us on the University of Michigan-Flint campus for ten days of music-making, exploration, and learning about artistry and vocal performance.


CIT Summer Camp

Camp Dates: June 25-26 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Murchie Science Building
Age Group: Incoming 6-8 Grades
Cost: $50
Lunches and snacks will be provided for both days

CIT Summer Camp is a 2-day program held on-campus at the University of Michigan-Flint. Students will explore the academic areas within the College of Innovation and Technology through fun hands-on activities and presentations.

Inclusion Camp 2024: Let’s Travel the World

Camp Dates: July 8 – 11
Age Group: Incoming grades 6+

Legal Scholars Exploration Program 2024

Camp Dates: June 17-18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in David M. French Hall
Age Group: Incoming grades 8-12
Cost: $25

Many dream about a legal career but have no idea how to explore if it is the right path for them. This camp will allow attendees to explore a legal career, hear from different lawyers, and prepare legal arguments. You’ll work alongside UM-Flint pre-law students as you build your knowledge about the law and your writing, speaking, and presenting abilities.

Exploring Health Care Careers

Camp Dates: June 18-20 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the William S. White Building
Age Group: Incoming grades 9-12
Cost: $50
Lunches and a camp t-shirt provided

Are you interested in a fulfilling career in health care, but aren’t sure which one is best for you? Explore in-demand health care careers through fun, hands-on activities and tours of our learning labs with faculty and students. Participate in an accident simulation and see how different health care providers respond to an emergency. Get introduced to many health care careers you may not be familiar with, including epidemiology and public health, social work, exercise science, health care administration, health information technology, radiation therapy, respiratory therapy, nurse anesthesia, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and physician assistant.

Future Nurse Summer Camp 2024

Camp Dates: July 15-16 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the William S. White Building
Age Group: Incoming grades 9-12
Cost: $35

This 2-day interactive summer camp is for high school students who are considering a career in nursing.  The camp will include fun, hands-on experiences to introduce campers to all that nursing has to offer.  Campers will have the opportunity to participate in activities with the goal of developing a passion for nursing. Faculty, staff, and current students in the School of Nursing will be present to work with campers and answer any questions that they may have related to the nursing program as well as the nursing profession.

Summer Entrepreneurship Institute

Camp Dates: June 18-20
Age Group: Grades 11-12
Cost: $50

The Summer Entrepreneurship Institute will assist participants with an interest in business and entrepreneurship to decide if this is a route they would like to pursue in college. The program will engage students in a series of life-changing sessions, allowing them to get a feel for the field. The mission is to encourage entrepreneurial thinking and to assist students in learning about the process of starting and growing new ventures.
