Community Relations

OED & CE Community Relations team is your starting point for building a partnership between your organization and the University of Michigan-Flint. Whether you represent a nonprofit, neighborhood group, school, faith community or local business, we help you find the right people, programs, and resources on our campus.

  • Event partnerships and sponsorships.
    • UM-Flint partners with community organizations on events that align with our mission and benefit our students and the region. If your organization is planning an event and would like UM-Flint’s support, review our sponsorship criteria before submitting a request.
  • Campus and community collaboration.
    • From service projects to applied research, our faculty and students are actively engaged with organizations across Genesee County. We can help connect you with the academic department, center or program best suited to your project.
  • Volunteerism and the United Way Campaign.
    • Our office coordinates the annual UM-Flint United Way Campaign and supports a range of community service initiatives across campus.
  • A primary point of contact.
    • Community Relations serves as a front door for residents, organizations and local leaders who want to engage with the university but aren’t sure where to begin. If you don’t know who to ask, ask us first.
