Carbon Neutrality is a Commitment for All of Us
The Sustainability Committee was formed through the Chancellor’s Office due to the President’s Commission on Carbon Neutrality. Its original function was to discuss and implement strategies from the work done by the PCCN and coordinate with the University Units Leadership Council composed of unit leaders from across the three campuses.
The Sustainability Committee continues to be a leading force toward sustainability. It is made up of appointed faculty, staff, and students under the Chancellor. They coordinate and advise work that makes progress toward carbon neutrality and sustainability on campus. The committee strives to advocate for and integrate sustainability into campus spaces, empowering all departments, units, and individuals to engage in sustainable actions.

The Work Doesn’t End Here
The work we do at UM-Flint is not where sustainability ends. The city of Flint is home to many organizations that are working tirelessly to provide positive outcomes for its current and future residents. This list is not exhaustive of all the organizers working for the city, but it’s a good place to start.
